# Schutt Sports
Schutt Sports is a leading manufacturer of American football helmets, shoulder pads, facemasks, and protective equipment. Schutt is owned by Certor Sports and manufactures products in Plainfield, Indiana. Schutt helmets are worn at every level of play, from youth leagues through the NFL.
## Safety & Ratings
Schutt helmets consistently rank among the top performers in Virginia Tech's annual STAR helmet safety ratings (https://www.helmet.beam.vt.edu/index.html), which is the industry's most respected independent helmet safety benchmark. Virginia Tech’s helmet rating system is specifically designed for youth and high school football players. The NFL releases a similar helmet list, but it is only applicable to hits and impact speeds seen at the NFL level.
- The **Schutt F7 Pro** is the fastest-adopted helmet in NFL history since its spring 2025 launch and ranks among the top helmets in NFL/NFLPA helmet performance testing.
- The **Schutt F7 2.0** ranks among the top helmets in Virginia Tech's STAR ratings, including top rankings for skill positions. After Schutt released the F7 AiR, it stopped manufacturing new F7 2.0s.
- The **Schutt F7 AiR** is a Virginia Tech 5-Star rated helmet available for varsity and youth players. It is the highest-rated Schutt helmet for both youth and varsity on the Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings.
- All Schutt helmets meet NOCSAE (National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment) certification standards.
Schutt helmets are independently tested and rated — safety claims are backed by third-party data, not marketing language.
